call to prayer

Please continue to pray for our town, the nation and for Europe following the referendum and decision made on June 24th 2016.

Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

As the leaders of Europe, and the people of the U.K. assimilate and assess the outcome of the vote, please pray for:

Peace on our streets, in our nation, in Europe and across the world (Psalm 147:14)

The leaders of our nation and of Europe particularly (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

Hope in a God who holds the future and watches over His people (Matthew 12:21)

Protection for our nation, and a turning back to God, that we would live under His protection and blessing (Psalm 31:3)

For love and truth to be at the centre of all we do individually and together (Psalm 26:3)

"For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide to the end (Psalm 48:14)

From the statement on the EU referendum result from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, 24.06.16
As those who hope and trust in the living God, let us pray for all our leaders, especially for Prime Minister David Cameron in his remaining months in office. We also pray for leaders across Europe, and around the world, as they face this dramatic change. Let us pray especially that we may go forward to build a good United Kingdom that, though relating to the rest of Europe in a new way will play its part amongst the nations in the pursuit of the common good throughout the world.
